My rose buds have developed and are starting to open and I have found a small grey caterpillar inside the bud?

First time rose grower. The small grey striped caterpillar was inside the bud and was making holes in the petals with associated sticky residue. What should I spray with that will not affect the opening buds?

Answer: Hi patrick,
You can spray your caterpillars with Success Ultra which you should be able to find at your local hardware and nursery.
