deformed and bumpy leaves on lily pilly trees

Could you please advise what I can do to prevent my lily pilly trees from being attacked by some pest? The leaves along with new shoots are covered with bumps and curl up like curly leaf on peach trees, could you please advise what I can use to cure this desease.

Answer: Hi Christine,
Many varieties of Lilly Pilly are attacked by an insect called psyllids. The young psyllids suck the sap from the new leaves and cause ‘pimple like lumps’ to develop. The damaged growth can be trimmed off to help reduce the population. Confidor is effective against these insects and can be used either as a foliar spray or as a fertiliser tablet which is inserted into the ground in the root zone. Water well after the tablet is inserted.
