Hi, I have a bird nest fern planted in a pot. It has been several months and there is no new foliage from the plant. It is well watered and well drained pot in a part shaded place. Not sure what I have done wrong. Please help.

Answer: Hi Penny,

I don’t think you have done anything wrong. Plants do take a little while to settle into their new environment so I wouldn’t be too concerned. Your plant is healthy and is in the right location in your garden. At this time of year you could apply a suitable fertiliser that would give your birds nest fern some extra nutrients to encourage it to put on new growth. Uplift Organic Liquid fertiliser would be an excellent fertiliser to use. Apply the product every two weeks and I am sure you will see a marked improvement. Happy gardening.
