Can olives be successfully grown in pots? Will they bear fruit? How large should the pot be, what variety?

Answer: Olive trees can be grown in pots but choose the largest pot or rather a half wine barrel.
A grafted variety will fruit within a few years as opposed to a seedling which can take up to 8 years.
