Medium_img-20170124-wa0000 Brown marks on lilly pilly plant. Receive morning sun, shade from 1pm onwards.

Plant is in a pot. Pebbles on top of soil for decorative purposes. Majority of leaves very green & glossy, just a few have these brown marks on leaves. Wondering what the cause might be? We've had hot days, could it be sun burn or lack of water or lack of nutrients??

Answer: Hi Jaime,

Thanks for contacting Yates.

It looks like it is suffering from a bit of sunburn there. The hot days and the reflection from the hard surfaces can cause some of this damage.

I recommend that you ensure that you water the plant regularly ensuring that the moisture is retaining in the soil and is lightly moist.

To assist with the stress you can give it a good feed with some Dynamic Lifter Liquid Plant Fertiliser and also apply some Yates DroughtShield to the leaves to help it retain that moisture even further.

Hopefully this will give the Lilly Pilly a bit more of a boost.

Kind regards
