Answer: Azaleas are a great plant to have in a garden but they are prone to this problem. That damage is caused by the azalea lace bug. To control that problem you need to apply some Confidor insecticide and some Thrive Flower and Fruit soluble fertiliser to help the plant put on some new growth to replace the damaged leaves
