I have egg fruit caterpillar can you recommend a product to control it?

I have evidence of egg fruit caterpillar, unfortunately I only discover it after it has already damaged the fruit, it has destroyed all of my crop to date, it there some way of controlling it, the plant is healthy and the fruit looks healthy until I go to pick it then discover it has been eaten

Answer: Hi Dawn,
Egg plants and tomatoes are attacked by caterpillars. These can be controlled with Yates Tomato dust which contains sulfur, copper and an insecticide (spinosad). If you would prefer a product you can spray onto the plants then Yates Success which contains Spinosad is very effective.

Spinosad is derived from a naturally occurring soil bacteria and should be applied in the early morning or late afternoon. The caterpillars will stop feeding once they have ingested the product but may take a few days to die.
