Does carbaryl have Systemic action properties?

If saturating soil around tree trunk with Carbaryl, will it kill leave chewing insects.

Answer: Dear Alf,
Carbaryl is not systemic. It is a contact and stomach poison that paralyses the nervous system of the insect. Carbaryl is no longer in the Yates range of products. Carbaryl was registered for the control of lawn grub and armyworms and was used as a soil drench.

I would suggest, if you are trying to control caterpillars, that you use either Dipel or Success. Both of these products are based on natural, low toxic ingredients and give excellent results in controlling chewing insects.
