i have stink bugs on my citrus. i was told not to use confidor on trees if i want to eat the fruit.

is this the case and have you changed the advice

Answer: Dear Peter,

Confidor is only registered for use on ‘non bearing’ citrus.

Once the last piece of fruit has been picked, it is ok to the spray the tree for pests until the tree starts to flower, at which time spraying should stop. It is then ok to eat the fruit from the following fruiting season.

In saying this, it can be difficult to put this into practice because some citrus appear to have flowers and fruit on the tree for most of the year. In this situation Confidor should not be used to control bronze orange bugs that appear on your edible citrus trees.
