Medium_screenshot_20190111-182339_2 Lemon myrtle moth pests

Lemon myrtle plant has light green adult moth pests although leaving white residue and wingless nymphs? What insect is this? Cannot find through googling and they do not look like mealybugs and are too large to be whiteflies? Some leaves fall off once eggs are laid beneath or as a result of browning.

Answer: Hi Tracey,

Thank you for contacting Yates.

From the photo you have leafhoppers on your Lemon myrtle.

We recommend applying ‘Yates Nature’s Way Citrus & Ornamental Spray’ as a treatment for these pests. Healthy and well-fed plants are also much less likely to be attacked by pests and diseases. We also recommend ‘Yates Dynamic Lifter Liquid Concentrate’ as a natural fertiliser.

Joyful gardening!

Kind regards,

Yates Horticulturist
