If i use confidor on a 4yo 2m olive for olive lace bug how long does it stay in the system? Soap did not work.

I used the Natrasoap repeatedly for Olive Lace Bug with no success and in desperation used the Confidor. This solved the problem but am now wondering how long the Confidor will stay in the system? Still too young to produce fruit and I live in south east Queensland so production will be negligible.

Answer: Hello Julia,

Unfortunately, as this is an off-label use of a registered pesticide product, we cannot provide any guarantee or advice on how long the active component will likely remain in the tree, or when the fruit will ever be safe for consumption, other than to advise against the consumption of such fruit.

It is also important to note that the Natrasoap product is not approved for treatment of Olive Lace Bug either. As such it would not be expected to control the pest, regardless of repeated sprays. This also constitutes another off-label use of a registered pesticide on your olive tree. Again we advise against the consumption of any fruit from this tree.

We do very strongly advise that all label directions are adhered to carefully when it comes to registered pesticide use. If you are having trouble interpreting these directions,or have any other garden questions, our team of experts can be contacted via online chat (on our website) or via email: consumer.advice.yates@yates.com.au

Kind regards,
