i have found some leaves on a flax type plant folded and interlaced to form a tent what would have done this

i live in goulburn nsw and the tenting and interlacing has only occured towards the end of autumn

It could be a caterpillar that is doing this to the leaves of your flax plant, although one would think that you would see damaged leaves if caterpillars were present. It would be good if you could email a photo of your flax plant so we can get a better idea of how to tackle this problem.
