Is this the correct way to cultivate these herbs?

I've just cultivated cuttings from a bay tree and rosemary tree by taking 20-30cm cuttings and stripping the bottom, wetting in water and covering in all purpose root strike. I then planted in propagating mix

Growing from cuttings is very satisfying. I have attached a link to an article setting out the steps for striking hardwood cuttings.
