Hi, Does Yates have a determinate bush tomato, mid to large fruit (not cherry), and good disease resistance?

I grow my tomatoes in containers, and find it difficult to stake them.
And each time I grow tomoatoes they get very sick with fusarium wilt and blight, and I am unable to spray or powder them as I have two little girls that like to graze through the vegie patches in the backyard.
Is there a determinate variety that does not require staking, has good disease resistance, and is big enough for slicing?

Answer: Hi Hannah

We can meet some of the criteria you require with your request for an determinate tomato bush, but not all of them.

Summerstar is determinate, normally growing to about 1.6 – 1.8m tall (which means you will have to stake it)

It is uniform in size, has smooth deep-red coloured fruit weighing between 120-160 grams.(big enough for slicing)

It has resistance to Verticilium (1), Fusarium F1 & F2, nematodes and bacterial wilt and a high degree of tolerance to early blight, bacterial canker and bacterial spot.

You will find this seed in your local nursery and hardware store.

Trust you and your little girls will enjoy growing, picking and eating this beautiful tasting tomato.
