Answer: Hi Alex,

Thank you for contacting Yates, most tea garden have been established from cuttings to ensure the new plants are true to type due to seeds mutation. However you can try to grow tea from seeds. After collect the seeds, separate from the pods and dried the seeds, you may sow in winter for better germination rate. Soak seeds in lukewarm water 4-5 days ( change fresh water twice a day), sow in seed raising mix indoor and maintain room temperature around 25c, water daily, plant out once radicles appear. We suggest keeping 15cm plant space, 20cm row space and 2-3cm sow depth.

Hope this helps and happy gardening.

Best Regards,
Louise
