Seed potatoes versus bought potatoes & how long before harvesting.

Answer: Hello Margaret & Ian,

Seed Potatoes are simply potatoes that have been certified as suitable for planting – there should be no significant difference in any facet of their cultivation other than a minimisation of disease risk. We do not recommend planting potatoes that have been produced for consumption – often these are marked as not suitable for planting.
