Answer: Hi Genevieve

I think that anything is going to struggle under the gum, trying to compete for water and nutrition. However, If you prepare the site well and incorporate some organic matter etc, then you might be in a better position.
Plants like Hellebore, some of the Iris’s, many grasses and some of the more interesting succulent type plants such as Furcraea, Beschorneria and so on will also work.
