I would like to replant in an area previously filled with bulbs. Despite digging out as many as I can I still have many coming through. How do I clear the rest to replant the bed?

The bed is North facing, the bulbs seem to be a plant with "peas on a stem" like flowers that eventually turn orange before dying. I was hoping on putting in some gardenias but worry the bulbs will still keep coming through. Would a weed mat help??

Answer: Hi There,
you may need to either dig the rest of the bulbs out or use a herbicide when they are sprouting.Weedmat will help and so will a good layer of mulch.
