port wine magnolia not flowering.has not flowered since i bought it about 3 years ago.please help.

is there something i can use to help it flower

Answer: Hi Venetta,
To help the Port Wine Magnolia flower a fertiliser containing high potassium will help promote flowering. Yates Sulphate of Potash is a rich source of potassium and can be dissolved in a watering can and applied around the plant. Also check and see if there are any possums in your area as they love to eat magnolia flowers.
