Excess agapanthus around the base of a liquid amber tree

We have a well established healthy Liquid Amber tree with agapanthus around its base. they are getting really thich - will they harn the tree.

Answer: Hi Margaret,

Thank you for contacting Yates.

They can start to take additional moisture and nutrients from the tree over time. Thinning them out regularly can assist with the competition as well as improve the look of the area.

Ensure that you give the tree a regular feed with Dynamic Lifter Soil Improver and Plant Fertiliser. This will assist with the nutrients that will be available to both plants.
