Lily Pilly lost its leaves over a period of 6-8 months. started with curly leaf then small areas became bare.

have four lily pillys in a row along driveway fence. 8 yrs old, shaped and three are healthy but fourth one has slowly over a period of 6-8 months leaves went yellow in colour and now very few leaves on plant. Structure and branches left but are dry.
have tried fertilising and spraying leaves 2/52 to try ang get rid of curly leaf.
Other three plants healthy but have curly leaf with little bubbles indented into leaves.

Answer: This is a very common problem in Lilly Pillys. It is caused by a sap sucking insect called a psyllid. They case the little pimples in the leaves and eventually cause the leaves to drop. The best way to combat these pests is to apply some Confidor. This systemic product travels through the plant and controls the psyllids as the feed on the sap. Help support the plants regrowth by applying some Acticote for natives once the psyllids are under control.
