What spray should I use for apples and can they be sprayed when they have fruit

I have fruit on my apple tree not yet ripe, can I spray for fruit fly, when should I be spraying my trees, is it too late, and what spray should I use

Answer: Hi Charmian,

The pest that you will need to control on your apple tree is Codling Moth. Spraying should start from late October up until picking. The product to use is called Lebaycid Fruit Fly & Insect Killer. The tree should be sprayed thoroughly from late October and every 2 weeks until 2 weeks before picking. You will need to spray from now on. There is a with holding for this product. Ensure that fruit is not picked for 7 days after spraying.
