The leaves at the bottom of my passionfruit vine are turning yellow and dropping off. Is this normal?

It is the beginning of winter and a few of the lower leaves have turned yellow completely and fallen off. What can I do? There are also green caterpillars.

Answer: Hello Charmaine,

Thank you for contacting Yates with your enquiry. Some older leaf drop at this time of year in a cooler climate is not unusual at all.

A range of caterpillar pests can be treated on passionfruit with Yates Success Ultra Insect Control. Check the label before deciding if it is suitable in your case. Of course, a few caterpillars at this time of year may or may not be of concern depending on the size of your vine. A feed with Dynamic Lifter Organic Plant Food in Spring should help get the plant off to a great start for the new season.

Kind regards,

Matt
