Fruit fly on citrus

I would like to know what product to use and when to spray for fruit fly. We lose most of our mandarins every year due to this.

Answer: You can use Natures Way Fruit Fly Control. This product is based on the naturally derived insecticide Spinosad, it also controls the female fruit fly while other products only control the male fruit fly which doesn’t lay eggs.

You can determine the best time to spray by using a fruit fly trap. You can find the instructions to make one at http://yatesau-production.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/139/How_to_make_a_Fruit_Fly_Trap_Yates.pdf. When fruit fly start to appear in the trap you can start applying the product.
