Black spots on gardenias. Epsom salts and fertiliser applied. help

Usually happy plants until now. In part sun + mulch. some cow poo applied a few times through the year. Black spots do not look like fungus.

Answer: More than likely these black spots are sap sucking scale. Control these pests with Confidor.
