Medium_20120926_115900 Golden cane palm covered in little white pods?

The palm is still very healthy, still growing new sprouts and not dying but I'm worried it could get worse down the line. No idea what they are or how to get rid of them. Any help appreciated.

Answer: Hi Kayla,

Thank you for sending the photo. You have scale on your palm. You can control this pest with either Yates Natures Way Citrus & Ornamental Spray, or with PestOil, an insecticide that will suffocate the pest. Spray on a regular basis to prevent the pest population from spreading. Keep your palm well feed and happy with a good quality fertiliser such as Acticote Instant Boost for Pots, Planters & Gardens.
