I have a white waxy-like substance on the small branches of my apricot tree, it is flaky, any ideas?

The tree is 3 years old

Answer: Hi Sue,
It is probably white scale which can be controlled using White oil. After the leaves have dropped and the weather has cooled down you can apply white oil to the branches. In spring if there are scale present on the new growth you can apply Pest oil or Confidor.

Keep the tree as healthy as possible by applying fertiliser regularly as well as seaweed booster or Yates Uplift Organic Fertiliser which contains sea weed and fluvic acid.
