i sprayed all peach trees with copper spray in sept, can i repeat the application as problem is reoccuring

we had leaf curl in all our peach trees and don't seem to be able to get rid of it. can i repeat the spraying now, all trees have tiny fruit on them.

Answer: Hi Regina,
Peach leaf curl is controlled using copper hydroxide or copper oxychloride at bud burst ie straight after winter when the nearly emerging buds are opening. Once the leaves are present or small fruit are present it is too late to spray. If the tree is sprayed now it can cause damage to the leaves and even reduce the yield of the fruit. Keep the tree as healthy as possible, watering and fertilising, and then spray next winter.
