Medium_img_0531 Help! My lilly pilly hedge is loosing leaves at a very fast rate. Brisbane Australia

The inner and lower part of the plant is getting brown spots on the leaves then the leaves fall off. The plants now look very scraggy. I have tried watering and fertilising, but no luck. I also tried an anti fungal and I don't think that really made any difference either. I wondered if maybe there might be a bug in the soil as they are covered in thick layer of mulch and weed mat

Answer: Hi There
It looks like you’re having some problems with a fungal spot. Lilly Pillies are generally resistant to most of these but if your tree is stressed it might get infected. The best thing to do is spray it with some Rose Shield which has a systemic Fungicide in it. Also prune off the worst affected areas before applying the Rose Shield then give it a feed with Dynamic Lifter to help it bounce back.
