Can I treat tomato stakes so that residual disease/s from this years crop aren't carried forward to next year?

As you know tomatoes suffer from various wilts and blights etc. What I'm wanting to know; Is there a solution I can soak them in that will destroy the spores etc so that I can use the stakes next year without carrying forward disease that will infect next years crop?

Answer: Tool and equipment maintenance is an essential part of preventing disease in your garden. You can disinfect your stakes with a 2% solution of household bleach. Make sure you let them dry before you store them. You can also use this on other tools like spades, trowels, hoes, garden forks and wheel barrows to sterilise them and prevent the transport of spores and harmful micro-organisms.
