Sandra
Do l have to lift my gladioli bulbs in Brisbane.

They are only just starting to die down, but the bed is mixed so will continue to be watered. Will this rot the bulbs? Also can jonquils be left in the ground?
mine were in a pot and all the foliage died down so l lifted them only to find sturdy bulbs and long healthy roots. I hurriedly replanted them this time in theground. What to do?

Answer: Hi Sandra,
To keep them dry (they do like a well drained soil) you can lift them but its not a necessity. You don’t have to lift your jonquils either they can normally stay in the soil for quite a few years.
