Hi , I've been given a dozen hyacinth bulbs? I live in Sydney when(month) should I plant them?

I am not an expereineced gardner so any advice is appreciated.

Answer: Hi Steve,

The hyacinth bulbs will need to be stored in a cool dark place until next autumn. Put them in the refrigerator crisper 3-4 weeks before planting. Plant the bulbs in Autumn (April or early May) 15 cm deep and 15 cm apart. They prefer a sunny position and fertile, well drained soil. They can also be grown in pots.
