Can I trim the leaves of my earlycheers by half just to tidy them up?

Answer: Dear Elaine,

It would be best to keep fertilising your jonquils with a liquid/soluble fertiliser until the leaves have totally died down. At that stage, you can prune back the foliage. This will ensure that all that food goes back into the bulb for flowering the next season.
