Day 22

The cold winter weather can be tough on many Australian lawns. Spring is the ideal time to rejuvenate your lawn so it can be ready for you and your family to enjoy over summer. Getting a great looking lawn is not as hard as it seems. To give you a helping hand, we have put together 3 easy steps to get your lawn looking great again.

day 5- weed

Control the weeds with Yates® Weed’n’Feed™ or Yates® BuffaloPRO® Weed’n’Feed™

In the cooler months of winter most Australian lawns are dormant and growth has slowed down. This creates the perfect opportunity for broadleaf weeds such as bindii, clover, dandelions and thistles to establish in lawn bare patches.

Weeds not only ruin the appearance of your lawn, they compete with your lawn for nutrients and need to be controlled before they set seed and spread. Spraying with Yates® Weed’n’Feed™ is an easy solution for controlling broadleaf weeds and it also provides your lawn with a quick feed.

If you have a Buffalo Lawn, we recommend using Yates® BuffaloPRO® Weed’n’Feed™, which is specially formulated for Buffalo lawns.

Step 2: REPAIR
day 7- barepatches

Repair any bare patches and thicken your lawn with Munns® Arid Sun and Shade Lawn Seed Mix and Munns® Superstart Seed and Turf Starter Fertiliser

Bare patches in your lawn can form through pests and diseases or general wear and tear caused by children or pets. Not only can they look unsightly, they also provide easy access for weeds to invade the entire lawn area. Spring is the ideal time for oversowing these bare patches, as the weather is mild enough to promote strong root and leaf growth before the heat of summer sets in.

Whether your bare patches are in full sun or 85% shade, the combination of Munns® Arid Sun and Shade Lawn Seed Mix and Munns® Superstart Seed and Turf Starter Fertiliser can help you get that lush lawn again.

This lawn seed mix is hard wearing, drought tolerant and is able to grow in a wide range of soil and climatic conditions.

It also contains Improved Turf Type Tall Fescue which spreads underground to thicken up and create new lawn. This assists the lawn to self repair any further damage caused general wear and tear.

Step 3: FEED
day 5 - feed

Feed your lawn with Munns® Golf Course Green Lawn Fertiliser

Spring is an important time to fertilise. As dormant lawns wake from their slumber they are hungry and need to be fed as soon as they start to put on their new growth. Feeding your lawn with specially designed fertiliser will assist the lawn to jump into growth as the weather warms up.

Munns® Golf Course Green Lawn Fertiliser is a quality organic based lawn fertiliser which supplies your lawn with essential nutrients such as nitrogen for leafy green growth and potassium to help strengthen the lawn.

It also contains trace elements for lawn health and has an added water-saving benefit, with Munns® Weta Lawn Soil Wetter.
