Mine seems to be dying after the frosts in Canberra

Australian Natives • Physical Damage

Established Kangaroo Paws can tolerate light frosts, with some cultivars being more frost hardy than other. However, the foliage may be  damaged and turn black. To help protect them from light frosts, apply Yates Waterwise DroughtShield.

Other ways to avoid frost damage is:

- plant underneath evergreen trees

- when putting in new plants, once the frosts have ceased for the year, plant in early spring to allow plants to establish

- keep the soil lightly moist and avoid cultivating the soil, as moist and compact soils are a better conductor of heat

- after a frost, water the plants including the foliage as this helps to prevent the frost settling on the leaves
