We recently had landscaping done and the Horticulturist planted Selects and Elites, after about a week the lower sections of some of the plants and the centers of others seemed to die in patches and all the leaves dropped off. The Cascades we had planted at the same time haven't had any leaves die but their branches are covered in white egg-like things with soft orange centers. We water regularly and apply seaweed spray but I am worried the patches we have lost will not grow back and we had them planted deliberately for a hedge! Our Lilly Pilly hedge that is well established from a year ago has no issues, just the new plants. Is it stress? Do you think they will grow back? Any advice on what to do for both our problems? Thanks so much!

Hi Alexis,

Thank you for contacting us. It would be hard to pin point the problem right away. We would request you to have a look at the trunk area near the base of the plants. Do let us know if you see anything unusual like cuts or wounds or any sap oozing out. Also please provide us few photos of the white egg like substance growing on the leaves. This will help us better understand the issue and provide an appropriate course of action. Awaiting your response.
