What is this white dust/sticky cobweb stuff on my Lilly Pilly Cherry surprise?
This is a new plant, it is in a pot, have noticed this white dust, sticky cobweb like substance on the plant, also a very small yellow like insect. Cant identify if this is a pest or is affecting the plant.

Hi Emily,
The lillypilly has mealy bug and this can be controlled with Yates PestOil . As the problem is quite bad you will need a follow up spray 7-10 days later. Fertilise the plant well to help with its recovery. Yates Dynamic Lifter or Thrive All Purpose would be suitable.
