How do you remove rust on Lilly Pilly trees?
tree keeps attempting new growth (lots) but it is quickly destroyed by a yellow rust - I suspect this is myrtle rust. Have cut affected ends of branches off, there is more new growth, seemingly unaffected for now. However, it is evident some rust is still present. I do not want to lose this tree. Is there any treatment for protecting new growth/irradicating problem?
It is most likely Myrtle Rust. We recommend to remove infected plants. Carefully wet the plants before removal to dampen any spores that are likely to be dispersed during removal. Check with local agricultural authorities for more information regarding disposal.
