What can I do with spilt petrol on my lawn that has died?

The length of the affected area is about 10m.

Lawns • Weeds

Hi Woo,

What an unfortunate thing to happen. Although the split petrol may have had an extreme effect on your grass by burning the blades of the grass, the petrol itself should dissipate fairly quickly and shouldn't have any long term effect on the soil beneath the grass. If you wish, you could remove that strip of damaged grass by using a sharp edge spade and then turn over the soil beneath to the same level as the existing grass. You could then apply a fertiliser to your lawn which will encourage the grass to run over that area. Good luck. I am sure your grass will soon recover.
