We have just moved into a house in Perth and the lawn turned to sand in summer with bindis & burs. We have a small dog that got a grass seed in her ear last summer, so we need a 'Pet Friendly' fertalizer & weed killer. What do you recommend?

There are two Yates products that can be used to eliminate the weeds in your lawn area. Depending upon the type of grass that you have, Try Yates Bindii & Clover (can be used on established lawns (except buffalo, new lawns less than 3 months old, lippia, dichondra, strawberry clover, other non-grass lawns and Durban grass lawns) or Yates Buffalo Pro ( suitable for buffalo grass) With both of these products, you would need to take precautions with regard to your pet. When spraying either of these products, put you dog safely in a place away from where you are spraying. When you have finished spraying, walk over the area sprayed and make sure the product has completely dried before allowing your pet to return to the area. You will need to spray those bindii as soon as possible before they flower and set seed. Hopefully you will be able to get rid of all those nasty weeds so your little dog can enjoy the lawn area.
