Lawn Repair after Summer Rains

Hello, My front lawn (mostly kikuyu) is damaged due to excessive summer rains. Some places it has gone completely and at some places it is gone thin. See pictures attached. What should I do to restore / repair / grow new lawn? Which lawn would be best for Western Sydney in terms of maintenance, mowing, etc.
