Hi, For a few years my lawn has developed brown patches. If I mow to low it looks a lot worse. I have included some photos. I have over the years tried different lawn seed including various lawn fertilizers, none have made any difference. Your advice would be appreciated. Cheers Bob

From the photo it looks as though you have couch grass. As the mower sinks into the lawn when mowing there is a bit of thatch under there which can impede growth in the long term as the new runners clamber over the older ones.

For the areas that are brown it is likely they are suffering from a fungal issue such as brown spot. This regularly occurs in the cooler months of the year as more dew continually sits on the lawn. To assist with control we recommend applying 'Yates Mancozeb Plus Garden Fungicide & Miticide'. It is a multi-purpose, dual-active formulation combining the benefits of mancozeb and wettable sulfur. Both actives have a contact fungicidal action, helping to control and prevent the entry and spread of a range of common fungal diseases.
