How do you relocate a birds nest fern

Is it possible to move this fern? If so how does one go about so doing?

Hi Robert,

Thank you for contacting us regarding transplant bird nest fern, Yes you can dig the whole fern out fairly easily and replant as the root system are shallow and close to the crown due the the epiphyte habit. When planting, dig a hole twice as big as the root ball and mix some Dynamic Lifter Organic Plant Food into soil, which is a manure based organic fertiliser, and will provide all the nutrients (nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus) for your fern need to grow and thrive. Hope this helps and happy gardening. Best Regards, Louise Yates Horticulturalist
