Can guava trees be grown in VIC?

can guava trees be grown in VIC?

Fruit and Citrus • Plants

Hi Darryl,

Guava is a tropical fruit tree and does like a warm climate. As the weather can be quite cold in parts of Victoria, a guava may survive, but whether or not it would produce desirable fruit is another thing. I guess if you created a micro climate that this tree would enjoy, then you might be successful. There is an excellent book you might like to read written by Louis Glowinski called The Complete Book of Fruit Growing in Australia which is full of fruit growing information. Good luck with your fruit growing.
