Why do my Lots A'Lemons have brownish spots on them

The tree is in a pot on a patio. We were hoping to make Limoncello, but will need to remove the spots, I think.

Fruit and Citrus • Pests

It looks like California Red-Scale which can be controlled with PestOil in Dec, Jan, Feb, March. The scale can be removed by scrubbing. There is another pest which causes similar looking symptoms which is the citrus rust mite. This is controlled with Yates Nature's Way Vegie & Herb Spray Concentrate which is an organic product.
