These galls are caused by the citrus gall wasp which lay eggs in the bark of young stems and the emerging larvae will feed on the citrus tissue. We recommend to prune off branches that are affected by the galls and dispose of the galls in the bin. You may also place these galls in a plastic bag and leave to cook in sun for about two weeks before adding the treated plant material to the compost.
