Is it ok that the bark of my lime tree is splitting?

The tree looks good and producing fruit as normal but the splitting is increasing up the stems.

Hi Trish,

That doesn't look too good. very often it's either a nutritional deficiency, something like Boron perhaps. The tree will fruit well if it's under stress as a last resort most commonly. You can try to help it by feeding it up and ensuring it has sufficient water in dried times, but I suspect it may be time to think of a new tree. Yates Thrive Natural Citrus & Fruit Pelletised Plant Food will help. If it's in a pot, then reduce the feed strength by half. Kind regards, Ben
