Hi, recently I planted a grapevine near my fence in my backyard and it didnt survive.

I added compost, manure and fertilizer. The only thing I can think of is it was planted close to an apple tree could root space competition be the reason it didnt survive. Any help thanks

Sorry to hear the grapevine didn't survive. You may consider the following aspects for future reference:

- Has the soil been improved? Particularly in heavy clay soil. 

- Has the new planting been watered regularly?

- Is the new location suitable for grapevine, ie: sun and shade.

- Is the fertiliser suitable for planting new saplings?
