Hi Mary,

Gardenias are plants that require a lot of feeding especially during the spring/summer months when they are producing flowers. It is not unusual for them at times to have yellow leaves. To ensure the plant is receiving the correct amount of nutrients, apply a liquid fertiliser such as Yates Dynamic Lifter Liquid Concentrate. It's an organically certified fertiliser, which contains seaweed, blood&bone and fish meal to help developing new roots and restoring healthy growth. Your plants will respond well to this fertiliser. Brown spots - could there be soft brown scale present. This pest is normally found on the midrib of the leaf and on the twigs. It is a sap sucking insect so it should be controlled as soon as it is detected. PestOil or Yates White Oil will control this pest. Regular applications of seaweed solution will help to maintain the health of your gardenias.
