During autumn and winter sedum flowers will begin to fade so prune these plants back but be mindful of new shoots that are beginning to grow (they look like rosettes of silvery green leaves) and that this young growth can be affected by frosts. It is advisable, in cold areas, to delay pruning until the danger of frosts has past. When cutting these plants back, be mindful that some of the young growth can be affected by frosts.
